Kenya’s fastest-growing real estate company, Lesedi Developers, has swept the deck in two categories in the recently concluded Top Score Brands Real Estate Awards 2021 held at the Hilton Hotel.

The prestigious awards recognized Lesedi as not only the most consistent land selling and Subdivision Company, but also the most promising company in mid-plan affordable housing development in Kenya.

Speaking during the award ceremony, Geoffrey Kiragu, the founder and director of Lesedi Developers Limited attributed the win to the company’s commitment to offering land investment options at competitive rates.

“A big thank you to our staff, clients, the regulators, and the industry at large for the recognition. To be honored through these awards cements our belief that we are your premier partner for land. They are reflective of our value to providing Kenyans in various parts of the country a place to call home,” Mr. Kiragu said.

The Top score Brands Real Estate Awards are held to acknowledge excellence and the need to maintain high standards within the real estate sector.

This stellar recognition comes to Lesedi on the heels of the company’s fourth anniversary amidst the negative impact the COVID-19 has had on various industries. The outbreak of the pandemic saw many people lose their jobs and unable to pay rent, as tenants looked to downsize to more affordable living quarters.

According to statistics from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) published in June 2020, it was established that in 6 out of 10 households, the breadwinner was unable to provide due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At least 1.7 million jobs were lost.

“At Lesedi, we have maintained resilience and will continue to pursue our goals of offering affordable properties and parcels of land that Kenyans can own amidst reduced income. It is not by chance that we are here. Since our inception, we have helped more than 4,000 Kenyans to own land and houses in Nairobi, Juja, Machakos, and Thika,” revealed Kiragu.

The company, in line with the government’s Big Four Agenda of providing Kenyans with affordable housing, envisions developing close to 300 houses in Nairobi. Currently, it has launched nearly 40 projects and has issued over 5,000 title deeds to landowners since its inception.

“Initially, our projects were concentrated in the central and eastern (Kiambu & Machakos) parts of Kenya. However, we have recently started to explore other areas like the rift valley (Nakuru). We intend to have projects in every county very soon through our newest offing known as the Lesedi Club for Land,” explains the executive.

He also lauded the government’s move to digitize records at the Ministry of Lands noting that it will get rid of fraudsters with a habit of conning unsuspecting Kenyans by selling fake land.

Through the award, Lesedi is taking a step in the right direction as it focuses on cementing its legacy as a property developer of choice for many Kenyans.
